Welcome from Dame Glenys Stacey – Chair
I am honoured to be the Chair for the Office for Environmental Protection at such an exciting time for this important new environmental body.
We are up and running, with a number of key pieces of work delivered or underway, including our first report monitoring progress of the government in England’s 25 Year Environment Plan and our first investigation. But there is still a huge amount of work to do as we move our focus from establishment to delivery. We aim to build on our strong start to firmly establish the OEP as a highly effective and respected organisation, ensuring that our environment is not just protected properly but improved and enhanced, as government intends.
OEP is its people. To be the best it can be, to make the most difference, to deliver to the full, it needs the best people – talented, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and from all backgrounds – to bring OEP to life and deliver all our hopes and ambitions for it.
This is a unique opportunity. If you think you fit the bill, we will be delighted to hear from you.
Dame Glenys Stacey – Chair
Welcome from Natalie Prosser – Chief Executive
The OEP is a new organisation, less than a year old. We have already demonstrated the value that we bring but we have a lot more to do. The pressures on our environment are significant and there is no time to waste. Urgent change is needed and we at the OEP have to play our full part in turning the tide, in order to better protect and improve the environment.
We are looking for someone to take on our Chief Insights Officer role who is passionate about protecting and improving our environment. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to drive meaningful and lasting change. You will lead our team of scientific and technical specialists and ensure strategic and evidence-based oversight of government’s delivery of its commitments in the 25 Year Environment Plan and new statutory targets.
The OEP is a fantastic place to work, our people are committed to our mission, we support and empower each other and we collaborate so that as an organisation we are greater than the sum of our parts. We want someone who will lead and inspire our people, someone with vision and drive and someone who is committed to our ethos of being strategic, expert and independent.
If this sounds like a place where you can make the difference, we want to hear from you.
Natalie Prosser – Chief Executive
